Please register for classes early to ensure you have a space.  Any class not meeting the minimum number of guests 48 hours prior to class time may be rescheduled or cancelled.

Fun Details – All classes include menu recipes, samples of the food prepared and complimentary beverages. All students receive a 10% discount off of in store purchases (excluding alcohol) before and after class on the day of the class. For your safety, please wear flat, closed-toe shoes in our hands on classes.

Chef Bio:
Since retiring from the federal government in 2010, Chef Joanne made a very important decision – to finally pursue her dream of learning more about culinary field. She graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta having learned about classical French techniques, garde manger (the cold kitchen), and a baking and pastry diploma. She is here to show you the hows and whys to create wonderful fresh meals in your own home. In case she looks familiar, she has been a Cook’s Warehouse employee for approximately 10 years and currently teaches, among other sweet and savory classes, A weekend Basics Series as well as Knife Skills for Adults, Teens, and Tweens (yes, she starts appropriate knife skills for as young as 10 years old). She also co-teaches an advanced grilling class with our resident Smokemaster, Jeremy Garlington.

Knife Skills 101 Hands On Just for Teens (Ages 13+) (10148) (10669)

Attention budding chefs! Join Chef Joanne in this class where you will work in small groups to learn knife skills among your peers. First, Chef Joanne will guide you through deboning a chicken then guide you through the proper techniques for:
• Using a boning knife to butterfly a chicken breast
• Using a chef’s knife for larger cuts to julienne and dice
• Using a paring knife for fine knife cuts
• Using the appropriate knifes to slice delicate items such as tomatoes and breads
Along the way you will learn about “mising” your ingredients, and will continue to work in small groups to complete some delicious recipes using your freshly sliced and diced fresh ingredients, including:
• Easy Three Onion Dip with Crudités
• Green Salad to showcase your knife skills
• Marinated Grilled Chicken
• Sautéed Green Beans
• Toasted Cheesy Bread
• Fresh Fruit topped with Chantilly Cream

Sharpen your knife skills in this hands on class that teaches the inside secrets to perfecting your slice, dice and julienne. Class topics also include selecting the correct knife for the task at hand, caring properly for your knives, and choosing cutting boards that are most suitable for your personal needs. We have plenty of knives on hand for you to use in class. If you prefer to gain practice with your own knives, please bring both a chef’s knife and a paring knife. A light dinner will be served using the freshly chopped items from class.
