Fun Details – All classes include menu recipes, samples of the food prepared and complimentary beverages. All students receive a 10% discount off of in store purchases (excluding alcohol) before and after class on the day of the class. For your safety, please wear flat, closed-toe shoes in our hands on classes.

Japanese Sushi Shop Hands On (9578)

Japanese sushi and American sushi are quite different from each other. Most Japanese sushi is comprised of fish either raw or treated. American sushi has many options, most of those being rolls. The most popular are rolls and deep fried or have deep fried ingredients or cream cheese and are covered in a rich sauce. Even the presentation format, shape and size are considerably different from Japanese sushi. In this sushi class you’ll learn the most basic skills and knowledge before making simple sushi roll, things such as choosing rice, vinegar, nori, tea, utensils, knives, soy sauce, wasabi, and the most importantly the fish. Chef Sean will also share the inside scoop on sushi bar etiquette and how to eat sushi properly, and will demonstrate Japanese wet stone knife sharpening technique.
